About Band
Wicked Stixx
In the beginning there was a cover band, that cover band didn’t start off to well, their guitarist dropped that cover band and there was a hole in the band. Mickey, the lead singer and other guitarist of the cover band contacted Sti about joining this cover band and Sti was happy to oblige.
Now this might seem weird but this was the start of something. Three members of the cover b...and decided that they need to get a new bassist as the current bassist did not practice or show up for rehearsals. The trio, Mickey, Sti and JR practiced without a bassist for a while and decided to take a chance and ask a friend that played bass quite well to join them.
The bassist, Morris, joined the band.
Together these four kids started doing original songs in a garage, the songs got better and the jams got sweeter but the band still didn’t have a name and they dropped most of their covers. Weeks of practice went by with no name until one day.
“I got this cool idea for a band name” Morris told the guys. “You know how we are kind of old school and we love KISS? Did you know that their original name was Wicked Lester? So I thought Wicked Sticks, as in cigarettes but because we’re old school why not just make the name Wicked Stixx, you know like Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue?”
“That is a really cool name Morris!” The rest said in unison.
That day Wicked Stixx found their name and they practiced and practiced for gigs that lay ahead. They took their holiday break for December and as they got back they had a two day rehearsal bash to cram everything back in to their minds. They signed in for a gig and prepared for their first gig. 2 weeks before they did their first gig, they got cut and had to start planning new gigs.
What is in store for this band in the future? Well they already recorded their first song entitled “Big Bad Wolf” and it’s a classic take on Little Red Riding hood but in this song The Big Bad Wolf is the protagonist and Little Red Riding Hood referred to as a “Little Girl” in the song is the antagonist. They are also recording their second song through this week and having a photo shoot to use for advertising purposes. All in all, all they need is a room to play in and a place to put their things because the four Stixx brothers are tight.
To be continued…
