Woost is a rock band from Tilburg in the Netherlands. Supposedly their name came from the Dutch word 'woest' (fierce), written like it's English. The band members are: singer/guitarist Koen-Willem Toering, bass player Erik Harbers, guitarist Gijs Coolen and drummer Nicky Hustinx. Drummer Pieter Holkenborg left the band in 2006 and guitarist Jesse Klaasse left the band in 2007. Since they started in 2002 as students of the rock academy, they released Red EP (2003), Colour My Skin (2005), Rumour; Open Your Ears (2006) and Welcome to Teleskopia (2008). Despite much critical acclaim, they had little commercial success. The band is known for complex, melancholic and ambitious rock, rooted in tradition, but with experimental spirit.
