"You, Me, and Us" was formed in 2007 when Pat Rock responded to a classified ad made by Tyler Fighting about forming a 90s punk/alt rock band. At the time, Pat Rock (PR) was still living in West Palm Beach, Florida but would soon move to Columbia, South Carolina where he and Tyler Fighting (TF) would both make their first attempts to make some serious "rock-n-roll".was formed in 2007 when Pat Rock responded to a classified ad made by Tyler Fighting about forming a 90s punk/alt rock band. For the first few practices PR and TF would both play guitar through their tiny solid-state practice amps until Rock made the move to bass guitar. It was his first stringed instrument and it was nearly an immediate success. Now that the rythem section was solidified, they needed songs. PR went into his many notebooks and took lines from several songs to peacemeal together their first song, Time is Running Out. While the song was basically frankenstien'd from other songs it would serve as the launch pad for more songs to come. Infact, time was running out the two felt. While still both in their early twenties, the responsibilties of adulthood such as raising a family, paying bills, and working fulltime were beggining to sneak up on them. Thus the mission statement of the group would be to make as much money as they currently make at their dead-end jobs, but doing it while playing music.
The Duo had 4 songs but still lacked a drummer until TF recruited his neighbor "The Bear" (Cory) who had been in several touring bands but was currently sans band. TF conviced Cory to come to one of the practices where the two proceeded to play their songs. The Bear, who had been playing with mostly metal bands in his career had no problem at all finding beats in the simple punkish melodies of PR and TF. Thus, South Carolina's fastest, loudest, angriest band "You, Me, and Us" was born.
It was shortly after this point when the trio started booking gigs at The New Brookland Tavern where Cory was moonlighting as a bouncer. At this point it was time to upgrade some of their equiptment. It was time for halfstacks more watts. November 7th, 2007 marked the first time the trio took the stage and there was no turning back. It was two monthes later when the trio hit the road for the first time heading to The Cave in Chapel Hill, NC and since then "You, Me, and Us" has been blazing a trail all over the Carolina's playing shows in Charleston(SC), Seneca(SC), Myrtle Beach(SC), Greenville (NC), and Charlotte(NC). Simply put, these guys just don't stop.
In the Spring of '08 "You, Me, and Us" recorded their first full length release entitled Beercan Rebellion and has already begun writing a followup due out late 2008/early 2009 at the pace they are moving. "You, Me, and Us" plans on being a fixture in the Columbia music scene for years to come.
